Ego Shoes Wishlist

1. Esther Black Faux Suede Lace Up Flats £21.99
2. Laila Black Faux Suede Lace Up Heel Sandals £24.99
3. Rosie Khaki Fringe Ankle Boots £27.99
4. Vanessa Black Faux Suede Lace Up Platform Flats £29.99

My go-to shoes are always my black Nike Roshes or my black New Balance (are you seeing a trend here? I wear colour... sometimes). I want to try and look a bit smarter than just wearing trainers everyday so I'm looking to buy some nice flat shoes that I can wear everyday. I bought some really nice ankle boots from Primark yesterday which I'll no doubt start wearing 24/7 but I definitely want to get some cute shoes like number 1 and 3 featured above. If I was able to walk in heels respectfully without embarrassing myself I'd definitely be interested in buying number 2 as well as I love this lace up heel trend as seen on the Kardashian/Jenner clan.

If you're on Instagram you'll no doubt have heard of Ego from seeing their shoe collections across your feed. This relatively new online shoe retailer has gained so much success recently, mostly due to their fashion forward shoes at affordable prices. If you haven't browsed through their website, I thoroughly recommend you do!

Kardashian/Jenner Inspired DIY Stiletto Nails

Elegant Touch Totally Bare Stiletto 003 False Nails, Barry M Matte Nail Varnish in Vanilla

To mark the start of summer I thought what better thing to do than get some claws on my fingers in the form of stiletto false nails. I 100% underestimated how difficult it would be to perform everyday tasks with these monstrosities on and that is after I spent over an hour filing them down to a manageable length.

They were relatively easy to apply (after spending 5 minutes and some help from my dad to open the bottle of nail glue) by applying the glue directly on the nail then pressing on the right size nail for 4 seconds until bonded. From then on they have all stayed put! I then spent an awfully long time filing them down to a length I was comfortable with however this is entirely up to you whether you want to carry out that step. I've tried to keep the original stiletto shape however some of them have turned slightly rounded but I won't lose sleep over it.

Next I applied two coats of my favourite nude nail varnish - Barry M Matte in the shade Vanilla. Its great for wearing to school and work where you're not allowed nail varnish as it is a perfect natural colour. It is long lasting and doesn't chip which is essential for an everyday nail varnish.

I 100% recommend the false nails and nail varnish to anyone wanting to achieve the stiletto nail look for a fraction of the cost and get nails on par with the likes of the Kardashian/Jenner sisters. What do you think? Would you try these yourself?

MAC Lipstick Collection

This is my first proper post of 2015 and I'm 100% ashamed of how I've let my blog go into disrepair for so long! Stress of AS Levels, work experience, considering uni choices and the like along with part time jobs and being generally lazy has led to this abomination. However I'm dedicated to getting back into the blogging world this summer now I've almost finished my AS exams (whoever decided to leave AS ICT until the 23rd June is a cruel human being).

As a starter post to get myself into the flow of things, I thought I'd share with you guys my growing family of MAC lipsticks. The immaculate packaging and array of different shades and finishes are enough to make your heart flutter, but the ever growing price tag makes me cry a little bit inside. Don't even get me started on the limited edition lipsticks that I've gone out and bought on Depop in the last few weeks for more than they're worth. I'm obsessed however thankfully I'm not alone as plenty of the Instagram and blog communities share this love.

So here we go, I give you my collection:

From left to right: Siren Song (Alluring Aquatic), Creme D'Nude (Wash and Dry), Free As A Butterfly (Cinderella), Riot House (Kelly Osbourne)

I present to you my coveted limited edition lipsticks. Creme D'Nude and Free As A Butterfly were the two that I have actually been able to buy from the MAC website when they came out. However I had to search through Depop to purchase Siren Song and Riot House which I knew I needed just for the packaging. They're all very sheer light nude colours which I must admit I haven't used much. An exception to that rule is Riot House which is a matte bright orange colour. It is actually quite a wearable summery colour however as it is so matte, your lips need to be in tip top condition to pull it off or it'll just highlight any dry patches on your lips.

From left to right: Viva Glam II, Blankety, Velvet Teddy, Creme Cup, Coral Bliss, Rebel

You can probably tell I like my dark nudes from my collection here. Viva Glam II is my long standing favourite from when I bought it on a whim when trying to buy Velvet Teddy months ago when it was sold out for months. However since I finally got my hands on Velvet Teddy I've grown to love the matte finish of it and it's definitely competing with Viva Glam II for the title. Blankety is a brand new edition to the family and I'm certain I'll love it. They used it on me when I had my makeup done for an awards night in Belfast City Hall and I knew from then I had to have it! The other three colours are kind of the wild cards of the bunch. I bought Creme Cup because it seems to be the staple pinky nude on Youtube and Instagram however I haven't gotten much wear out of it - but I'll definitely try to use it more often. Coral Bliss was the first MAC lipstick I ever bought and I've underestimated what a lovely summery colour it is. It's not raved about enough and I definitely recommend it to anyone! Lastly, Rebel was also bought on a whim after seeing it all over Instagram and I haven't been brave enough to wear it yet, however I'm hoping for some nights out during summer (18th birthday fast approaching!!) that'll I'll definitely give it a go!

I have so many lipsticks I want to buy but I keep having to restrain myself. I'm thinking I'll definitely want to invest in Brave and Honeylove, what do you guys recommend? What are your favourites?

Missguided Winter Wishlist

Missguided Winter Wishlist
from left to right
Justine Khaki Crepe Snake Cut Out Bodycon Dress £24.99
Snake Print Monochrome Boyfriend Shirt £24.99
Verity Crepe Scallop Dress in Burgundy £24.99
Brenna Mid Sleeve Cobalt Blue Peplum Top £12.99
Wallace Double Layer Monochrome Dogtooth Print Playsuit £24.99
Bae Contrast Floral Print Crop Top £17.99

The perks of now having a permanent part-time job with a reliable income every month is the opportunity to actually buy the clothes I want instead of just lusting over them. This realisation has come all too apparent, as in the last couple of days I've managed to spend around £200 in Missguided, Urban Outfitters and Topshop. However you know how us girls are like, always wanting more! Missguided at the moment is on point and with perfect pieces to make yourself stand out during the approaching party season. The top 2 dresses and the shirt have to be my favourite out of them all, even though I have an order on its way, these will definitely be next up on my wish list to purchase!

Florida Haul

If you follow me on Instagram, you'll see that I recently spent 2 weeks in Florida to celebrate the end of GCSEs (good riddance!). I normally travel to Florida in February so the weather was very different to what I'm used to, averaging 35 degrees everyday! I'm not sure if I would recommend visiting the Sunshine State in the summer months, however the shopping as always was brilliant and here's some of the purchases I made while I was there.

Medium Sutton Satchel - Michael Kors

My dad pointed out this bag in the Michael Kors shop in The Mall at Millenia and it was love at first sight. It's probably the largest purchase I've ever made at $350 but so so worth it and I can tell this is going to be a staple accessory in my wardrobe for years to come!

Heidi Klum for New Balance 420 Trainers - Finish Line at Macy's

From the moment my eyes glanced upon these shoes on the shop display, it was love at first sight. I've been relatively on the fence whether I liked New Balance shoes or not but these shoes sealed the deal. I just love how unique these shoes are and you question whether they're New Balance or not. Plus they're black and will go with pretty much anything!

Assorted Hoodies - Hollister and Abercrombie & Fitch

You can't go to America and not buy any insanely cheap Hollister and A&F hoodies while you're there. I'm pretty sure these hoodies all worked out to be about £15 each, a far cry from the £60 price tag here in the UK! They're super soft, super comfy and just super hoodies in general!

Assorted Makeup - Walgreens and CVS

I held back on makeup purchases this time as I bought so much last time however I got some huge makeup bargains in Walgreens where loads of the makeup was in clearance for $1.99 each! Also the Wet n Wild Balm Stain was $2.99 and I had a $2 coupon, bargain of the century!

Reece's Cups Oreos, Ice Breakers Duos - Walmart
Sour Patch Kids Gum - Target

Here's just a couple of the food items I purchased over the last two weeks. Most of the foods I bought, I gave to my friend Emily for her belated birthday present but I managed to sneak a few for myself, including many boxes of Pop Tarts which are at my house in England. So excited to try the Sour Patch Kids gum!!!

Tomodachi Life for Nintendo 3DS XL Review

Following on from my previous series of Nintendo reviews, when I was offered the chance to review the new game Tomodachi Life, I couldn't say no. It's described as a reality TV show in the form of a game, and that's exactly what it is! You can create Miis to live on your island, and they can get up to all sorts of things!

Your islanders will live in an apartment block like this, and you can know when your Mii wants you to interact with them when there are icons like these showing up at their windows. It can be anything from them being hungry or asking your advice on a new friendship/relationship.

Your home screens will look something like this, you can see the game is played in real time and is just like a real-life reality TV show! As you create new Miis, new shops and attractions will become available, opening up new opportunities for your characters such as part time jobs and chilling at the beach.

Your characters will look like this, they'll show their likes and dislikes at the top screen along with their hunger and best friends. I had no idea who to make into Miis so I decided a Mii based on Ryan Reynolds would be a good idea (anyone who's seen The Proposal can't help but fall in love with him).

You can buy your Miis hats and clothes which they will either like or dislike. That strawberry hat is the cutest thing I've ever seen!

When something new happens on your island, a newsflash will pop up featuring some of your own Miis as TV hosts!

One of the funniest things I've discovered you can do is draw on Miis' faces while they're sleeping! Too bad it all rubs off once you click the back button!

When you leave your Miis to their own devices, they'll end up doing all sorts of things such as playing with pets and/or the handy Wii U that you can give to them as a gift (its not a Nintendo game for nothing!).

Despite having work and exams, this has been a great game to play when you just want a bit of down time, and I'll definitely take it with me to keep me entertained on the plane to Florida. Keep your eyes peeled for further Tomodachi Life reviews!
